summer ends and a new school year begins
May. Finally May is done! It had been a strange month. Every weekend this month was spent travelling to some distant part of Luzon.
First weekend was Sual Pangasinan (happy event), then Baguio (sad event), then Dagupan (sad event), then Baguio (happy event) again. We all have logged over 3000 kms this month. :-) .
This month also meant movies galore!!! First was Spiderman 3, then Shrek 3 and then Pirates At World's End, hmmm maybe in a while Mr. Bean's Holiday or tomorrow. You know I can totally sympathize why piracy is rampant here in the PI. Tickets are pesos 171.00 each and you still have to buy popcorn. A copy can be had for pesos 60 and you can watch it over and over. Still the reason you go to the moviehouse is for the big screen and the surround sound so yehey!!
=====
Anyway, Sual was a weekend to close up my parents house there and bring back to Manila my brother's family so they can go to China. Bonding time with cousins was the objective as we may not see them for 2 or more years.
Saturday evening was spent in a resort with pools, water slides, fountain sprays and jacuzzis. The kiddie pool was where we stayed longest because that's what the cousins could handle but the children could not resist not trying out the tall water slides.
ReyMey is not an extreme sports fan and sometimes gets scared and needs prodding but you must admire the desire within him to try things. If the Ates (sisters) can do it so can he. So he tries and if he finds it fun and not to scary he tries again and again..... hooray!
Sunday... Lingayen beach-- I love the beach, nice warm water and bask in the sun, ReyMey had always loved the beach, making sand castles or what looks like it and getting burried in the sand. Him and the sisters can go father away because they all can swim well and greet the waves.
On our trip home we got news that hubby's uncle passed away, they live in Baguio. We had to do another day trip for the wake and then do a weekend day trip to Dagupan for the burial. We never made it on time because our van broke down in the highway and we had to wait for a replacement vehicle. ReyMey, MaRey and MeyMey--- they were all fretful during the trip as the replacement vehicle was so cramped but we made it to Dagupan and greeted the relatives and paid respect to our dead. One gets so caught up with life that Time flies so fast and all of a sudden everybody's all so grown up.
We got ourselves invited to spend a few days with hubby's aunt in Baguio so my sisters-in-law with their kids, and us went last friday till Monday. We didn't see much of Baguio because it was more fun and relaxing to just sit around the dining table and trade stories or watch the children play and fight with each other. We did get to do horseback riding, hiking and mini-golf.
Now ReyMey was fascinated by Baguio he said it was as cold as Antartica!! He discovered a typewriter and decided to type away daily journals of what been done. It was so cool we just had to bring the sheets home and methinks we need to encourage this journal writing thingie. Now the typewriter hmmm where do we get a cheap one? Sheesh, 2 computers & 3 laptops at home and here we are thinking of getting a typewriter. Silly. I need me to find that free demo download of Creative Writer 2 I think.
Anyway, all that travelling has been a good family bonding experience. ReyMey learns a lot with actual traveling-- seeing different places, different food, reading maps..... totally unstructured planning of activities... we planned to go to a hot springs but halfway through we backed-out then proceeded then backed out again because of the rains and the possible rockslides in the mountains.... 4 adults, 2 teenagers, a 10y/o boy, a 6y/o boy a 7y/o girl , a 4 y/o girl and a 5 mos. baby all packed in one van come hither ho was so just hilariously crazy. (ReyMey would actually be the one to say "Can everybody PLEASE just calm down!!!)
=======
Anyway, last weekend before school starts on June 4 and we are planning a day trip to the beach back in Subic --- why not-- lets! So this Saturday we go back to spend another day at the beach. A beautiful summer if a bit sad and life goes on....
Now pictures, I don't know if the daughters have put up the photos on their multiply sites they usually do-- all I need is to get the link ......
