So 2 1/2 months after previous post. I have decided to join a parents forum group-- not that I have much to say but somehow one needs to be a member because it feels rude to read forum posts, it's like listening in on other people's conversation and then butting in.
Finally freedom is so called this blog because school is over. We are so over St. Mary of the Woods, we have found a new school for ReyMey another progressive school with very few kids, hopefully no bullying there.
I swear I cannot even recommend that school to any family that has a child with special needs. Since January we had been counting the days just to finish school. I had to fight for extra make-up classes to make sure that the required curriculum is taught completely. I had to stay on lookout so he won't be messed around by classmates who throw his lunch box in the girl's toilet.
If you are enrolled in the special ed department the tests scores are rigged [(score/total)/50] + 50 points and that will be your test score. At the start of schoolyear, we were told they do rubrics method of grading.
I suppose you could call this a rant but it has to be done or else it will fester, and now that I have got this out I'm just glad to start over again. We had high hopes that the schools will do lots for ReyMey academic wise but still it fell short of expectations.
Rant done let's move on to happy events. The light schooling did earn him 4 medals one for each major subject and a gold medal overall. Way to go ReyMey.
Happy events. Summer arrived early for this family, even before school ended we all went to Subic the weekend of Mar 10-11 and had a relaxing weekend, we knew more or less that MeyMey will be on the Director's List, meaning she has great grades! Way to go MeyMey!
It's a corker of a scorcher, this summer!!
And by the end of march we were of to Singapore, wonderful, wonderful and it was good timing too because in between subic and singapore, the eldest, MaRey had an appendectomy for acute appendicitis. I got her to the hospital early enough that it did not burst. Truly the Lord takes care of my children.
So this done. We await what's in store for the rest of the summer. Take it one day at a time :-)
